ABOUT

Our Story

Founded in 2020, 2NDHEART is one of the world’s frontiers in the field of predictive healthcare analytics. 2NDHEART was first started by Ms Fiona Guantong Hu — a cardiovascular researcher — who realized that the cardiovascular issues got severe due to a delay in preliminary diagnosis. 2NDHEART leverages its deep medical and technology expertise, to provide Virtual Cardiology Services to remote clinics.

Vision

We envision to shift the 90% chance of losing life due to a adverse events during the valvuloplasty and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) to an 90% chance of surviving it. The technology and product we developed are aspired to make a lasting impact for patients with cardiovascular diseases

Ms Fiona Guantong Hu/Director and Founder

Fiona founded the whole 2NDHEART project in 2020 with her extensive experience in clinical bench in both UK and China. She received her medical degree from University of Sheffield School of Medicine. Prior to candidating a PhD course on Regenerative Medicine at Imperial College London, she completed her Master at University of Glasgow, in Cardiovascular Research.

Ms Rita Yunan Peng/CEO and Founder

Yunan Peng Joined 2nd Heart Project in 2020 with her rich experience in molecular biology, lab research and clinical trials with a demonstrated history of working in the research industry, skilled in leadership, project management, and life sciences. Following a BSc in Pharmacy at Xiangya Medical School, Central South University, she finished her MSc in clinical Pharmacology at University of Glasgow. Mr Zhaolong Li/CTO and SVP

Zhaolong Li joined 2nd Heart project in 2022 with his experience in basic biomedicine, clinical bench and computational biology. Prior to candidating a PhD career on atherosclerosis and genetic susceptibility at Technische Universität München, he received his Master at Lanzhou University, in Cardiovascular Medicine. Yuyang Zhou joined the 2nd Heart project in 2022 with his experience in engineering, 3D bioprinting, product design and commercialization. Joey, who has a background in computational biology and related fields in life sciences, joined the 2nd Heart Project in 2023. He holds an MSc in Quantitative Biology and Biophysics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a BSc in Biological Sciences from Wuhan University. Hu Peng joined the 2NDHEART Company in 2022 with his expertises on the fields of biomedical engineering, cardiac modeling and electrical and computer engineering.
